Support and advice available
The Volunteering and Community Engagement Team is able to provide advice and support to colleagues in the University that would like to advertise or run international volunteering opportunities. This includes advice on:
- The international volunteering context and best practice;
- Checking organisations or opportunities to advertise;
- Seeking approval through the relevant University channels;
- Relevant University policies and procedures;
- Planning and preparing for a project;
- University systems including the Volunteer Hub and My Placement;
- Marketing and promotion;
- Recruitment;
- Pre-departure preparation and logistics;
- Project delivery;
- Post project evaluation and review;
- Reward and recognition.

The Volunteering Team works closely with the International Programmes Office and the Office for Social Responsibility to ensure projects are linked in to the relevant University processes.
